Overhaul to SRWMD bid solicitation system set to begin October 1

LIVE OAK, FLA, AUGUST 19, 2022 – The Suwannee River Water Management District (District) will be updating its bid solicitation system and is encouraging vendors to prepare now for the changes that will go into effect.

Effective October 1, the District will begin accepting competitive solicitation submissions electronically through the DemandStar service. This move is being made to streamline and simplify the current bid process and to enhance the transparency and integrity of all contracts administered by the District.

Vendors registered in DemandStar will receive automatic email notifications for District solicitations matching a vendor’s goods or services, and vendors will be submitting bids or proposals electronically in DemandStar. Physical copies of bids will no longer be accepted.

There is no cost for vendors to subscribe to the DemandStar service. The District will continue to post and advertise upcoming contracts on the State of Florida Vendor Information Portal (VIP) and the District website, in addition to DemandStar. Vendors may elect to sign up for alerts from other agencies or download documents through DemandStar at their own expense.

Additionally, the District will continue to post solicitation packets on its website – www.MySuwanneeRiver.com – where they will remain available for download free of charge.

More information – and a link to register for the DemandStar service – can be found at the District’s website, www.MySuwanneeRiver.com.
