The District is responsible for the management of over 160,000 acres of publicly-owned lands. Land management activities on these properties must meet multiple objectives, including protection of the natural state and condition of these tracts. To meet this particular objective, the District actively monitors a suite of species of special interest, including both rare biota and invasive, exotic weeds.
