[ARCHIVED] Senate Confirms Board Members and Executive Director

district updateToday, the Florida Senate confirmed the appointments of Richard Schwab and Charles Keith to the Suwannee River Water Management District (District) Governing Board (Board), and also confirmed Hugh Thomas as executive director of the District.

Water management district governing board members are subject to Senate confirmation based on dates of appointment, while executive directors are subject to be confirmed as a new hire or upon a change in administration in the Executive Office of the Governor.

Schwab and Keith were appointed to the Board in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Each was reappointed to their posts in 2019 by Governor DeSantis. Now confirmed, their terms extend until March 2022 for Keith and March 2023 for Schwab.

Thomas was appointed as the executive director in July 2017 by the Board. Now confirmed under the new administration, he will continue to serve at the pleasure of the Board to carry out the core mission areas of the District.
