The Suwannee River Water Management District governing board approved the draft FY 2007-08 Work Plan and Budget at its meeting Tuesday in Live Oak.
The proposed FY 2007-08 budget calls for a tax rollback rate of 0.4399 mills, or about 44 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value. This is a three-percent decrease from last year’s rate of 0.4914 mills. Prior to this year, the millage had remained at 0.4914 mills since FY 1993.
The total proposed budget is $81.9 million.
A final public hearing on the budget will be held on Tuesday, September 25 at 5:30 p.m. in Live Oak. Following public comment the governing board will adopt a final budget.
